Background

To accelerate its mobility-as-a-service model, Flexicar set out to build an embedded finance infrastructure that could support flexible renting, leasing, and insurance products — all under one roof.

Before 2025, credit operations were either outsourced or managed manually, leading to fragmented user journeys, inconsistent partner integrations, and limited automation. As demand surged, so did operational complexity, requiring better control over origination, credit decision-making, contract lifecycle, and accounting.

The goal: launch a full-service embedded finance engine seamlessly integrating third-party services such as KYC, identity scoring, vehicle inspection, credit risk evaluation, e-signature, insurance, CRM, and catalog synchronization — ensuring compliance, scalability, and user autonomy from day one.

The Challenge

Flexicar Renting needed to design and implement a centralized, flexible solution to manage the lifecycle of rental products — from origination and scoring to partner management, invoicing, and accounting — while integrating more than 10 external systems (KYC, insurance, CRM, risk, and more).

Additionally, operational agility was non-negotiable: internal users, often non-technical, needed to be onboarded quickly, and processes had to be secured against human error.

The Solution

Flexicar Renting selected Basikon as its technology partner to power its embedded finance journey, for its modular, 100% API-based, and low-code platform.
